Why don't goverments have a policy with councils that they should mix different cultures in their districts?

Don't you think by having say a prodominant Asian population in one area is asking for trouble.

In the United Kingdom for instance we have large towns which are nearly 100 per cent asian, and in the past, full scale riots have broken out over the smallest of issues as they have in America.

Now if these areas was equally mixed i think there would be less racism in the world.

But as you all know that over the years no one wanted asians living next door to them.

I am only telling you what experiences i have had in my life, and i know its what every western country has experienced.

Obviously dr jimmy did'nt read the question,
i'm all for a mixed society.
When its a closed society, the kids will grow up being brainwashed in their own homes, and by what they see on TV.

I think you have made some very good points. I think it is wrong to put people of ethnic origin or even class divides into seperate areas. I have lived in areas where there has been a good mix of different races and it has been very harmonious.

How do you know what every Western Country has experienced. Most immigrants want to live within their own communities, it is was not enforced on them. Out of choice. I lived in Slough for many years so I know what I am talking about.

Most of the riots in these Asian Communities are caused by infighting amongst themselves. Get it into your head that most Asians are here to stay. So live and let live, but keep the trouble makers and terrorist out and the government must clamp down on immigration for everyone sake; Black, white, yellow; pink.

In the city where I live, once the immigrants come to certain areas all the locals move away......only the ones who can't afford to move stay.....then it becomes a mostly Asian area or whatever.

There are some areas that are very expensive to live in and most of the original people from that city can't afford to live there...so no, I don't think immigrants should be able to live there either.

They move into run down areas and then the area becomes worse....I'm sorry this is just my opinion of my inner city!

When re-housing immigrants the governments will make sure there are others of a similar culture around. It goes without saying that people often feel they need to be with people they have something in common with and can gain support from.

imagine being rehomed to somalia and not meeting anyone who you can communicate with effectively?

I do understand that the ghettoisation of areas through rehoming too many immigrants or having too many live in the are has a negative effect but can you really stop like minded people congregating to certain areas.

They may be drawn to certain areas where they can practice their own culture and religion. etc etc?

The only statement that confuses me in your question is that people dont want asian people living next to them......? Do you think thats true?

What I can't understand is the fact that every town has a Chinese population yet they never ever cause any trouble. I think they're one of the nicest races of people. But the other lot (of a certain religous persuasion) are a bunch of trouble makers. Why is that?? I don't get it.

I really do not having a problem living next door to any of the above mentioned. My problem and I'm sure others, is the amount of these people flooding the country, its not the quality its the quantity......

The government does not put them anywhere. Immigrants gather and live together regardless of the origin, while they assimilate the new culture.
That is how we have Little Italy, Chinatown...

It is what the pilgrims did!

I dont think the government has anything to do with it. They live where they want. They chose to live among their own culture as it is familiar to them and they are more comfortable.
