Yes I climbed Mt. St. Helens in 1987, the first year after the eruption that they let people do so. It's a wonderful experience, to see the destruction from the top of the crater, in fact, words can't describe it. If you go, you have to be in shape, cause the climb is very strenuous due to high altitude, but it's worth it if you can. Back then, you had to register with the Park Service before you were allowed to attempt the climb. Don't know now.

i have climbed lassen and mt. adams right next door to st. helens during that last eruption period. it was awesome.
