I know many of you will say "see your doctor" but with no insurance and the free clinic in my area is a JOKE, this is hard. Please tell me what you think. Before anyone gets judgemental, my boyfriend and I have been together 2 years...
I started my period on July 1st. The next one didn't show until Aug 11th. I took 2 hpt that both came up negative. I know every pregnacy is different but with my son after being late 3 days, the hpt was very clearly positive. I have had 2 periods since both regular. My question is this: My lower stomach has started to "pouch". I have had no pregancy symptoms what so ever. My day is normal, I sleep good, eat well balanced meals (with a splurg of chocolate once in a while). I have been under a lot of stress due to finances and custody with my 5-year-old. Could this cause my "pouch"? Any ideas would be helpful. Again, keep in mind I have no insurance & little $ right now. Unless someone knows where I can go in mid-Michigan for little $. Thnx

The health department test is actually one of the hpt test-I called it that because to me that's the same thing they use as we do at home. Negative result.

State assistance isn't an option. I make $10 per hour @ 35-40 hrs per week and was told that I make too much for any assistance.

There are too many reasons you could appear to get bigger around the middle. I wouldn't worry too much until you can get to a doctor for that "peace of mind." You might check out stress and weight gain on Google, cortisol is a valid reason to gain weight around your middle. If stress is playing a huge role in your life, keep those balanced meals up, limit caffeine and try to increase your rest and your exercise. Additionally, something particularly soothing added to your day will help. Very few people have periods while they are pregnant, even they pop for the test, okay? Good luck with your custody issues!

if the hpt are showing negative then you probably are not pregnant. they are very accurate, the box should say exactly how accurate they are. and you took 2 different tests, i am not a mathematical genius or anything but i bet your chances of winning the lotto are better than being preggerz after 2 negative tests. relax, stress can cause irregular periods. i know how it is with out insurance, but you might want to consider going to the doc if your body is still acting "not normal."

Sounds like you're not pregnant. The "pouch" could be that you're retaining water or that you've gained some weight. As long as you don't have pain I don't think you need to see a Dr. Try exercise, it will help with the stress and may help take off your pouch if it's excess weight.

If you have other symptoms associated with your 'pouch' then i'd say it was stress...Do u have stomach cramps too? If so it could be Irritable Bowel Syndrome, a stomach disturbance caused by stress...Stress can also mess up your periods too....Just try and take each day as it comes and try not to worry..unless your having really bad symptoms i wouldn't go to the Doc's myself..

If I understand correctly you actually have not had a positive pregnancy test?

I will say this for sure stress can cause tremendous health problems. Especially irregularity of periods. If I read your detail correctly it doesn't sound as if you are pregnant.

I say this again STRESS is a very controlling factor in our lives. Good luck.

If money is that tight try getting some assistance from the state. You could get on Medicaid. IF you live in Genesee county there is a plan called Genesee Health Plan anyone can get on that. it could just be stress though but put aside your pride and get some help from the state.

Stress can cause belly buldge..... I'd say if you're in a custody battle, have no insurance, etc then you are probably really stressed! Check your yellow pages, some communities have centers that offer free pregnancy tests.

Probably you aren't pregnant. You don't state if you have any pain or not so its really difficult to begin to know what to tell you.
Other things that can cause you stomach to pouch are a hernia or an infection or weight gain. Please call your local social service office and ask them about possibly getting medicaid or maybe some other program, even if its a "joke" you need to be looked at if it bothers you.

Yes it sould be stress,
I am sorry to say this but you do need to see a doc I could tell you to do an urine test that will be money spend while you can save it to pay the doc

stress can cause weight gain, and irregular periods, so I'm assuming that this is your problem. If another PG test says Neg then I wouldnt worry about it. It should register after 3 months!!
