can a boy have a date and a girlfriend?

date is when he takes u out with no strings attached and a girlfriend is when hes told you he likes you and you both decide you wanna be in a relationship.

You are still in the "experiencing" stage when you are dating. You arent sure if this person will be who you want to call all the time or be with all the time. Guys consider you as a girlfriend if they want to see you all the time. With dating you would only see eachother for a short period of time, but being a girlfriend requires a little bit more attention than that.
I guess just wait till he asks you to be his girlfriend. Otherwise continue seeing other people till you find out what is goin on. Because guys will end up telling you that its not working out by the 3rd date. Unless if you are in a sexual relationship with them, then they will NEVER let you go, they will keep you around just as a "spare" Dont put yourself in that position because it will only hurt your feelings later on. On a date, it is just that. A DATE. No commitments, just a time to have fun with someone maybe once or twice. to discover if there is a potential relationship there. A girlfriend is more committed. Someone you like very much, call on the phone numerous times a day, Spend a lot of time with, have a courtship meaning go to each other's houses, hanging with the parents and other family members.

A date is seeing a girl and going out, usually for the first time.
A girlfriend is when you know each other more, are becoming one and have been on so many dates it is not really a date any more, it is just being together.

A date is an outing, for one day, with no committment. A girlfriend is someone you are committed to being in a relationship with and dating no others.

The difference is because a date you just go out with them and if you want you can do it again but if you dont like the date you can just forget about them and a girlfriend is someone who you can't just forget about your with that person not just a one night stand or something

A date is when you are trying to bond with a person you are interested in. while a girlfriend is already beyond that step. However, that doesn't mean girl/boyfriends can't go out on a date
