Maybe a little shoebox size care box for her desk drawer. A candy bar, granola bars, emergency tampons, aspirin, a sweet little book or card that says something special. A sweet framed picture of her baby a colorful feminine pen, pretty post it notes. It could be an artsy type box that will be pretty and make her feel good when she opens it.
Or send flowers to arrive on her first morning. Bless you for being a great friend. I hope some of my suggestions work for you. Good Luck.

Oh wow I think that is so nice of you! I hope my coworkers are reading this for the future, haha! Hmm... This really is an interesting question! I'm so glad you asked it. Well, how about a candy jar to put at her desk in her office and fill it up with her favorite candies for her to keep at work - that would motivate me to go to work! How about some joke books about the difficulties of raising babies. How about 'Free Lunch For A Week' and have a few coworkers volunteer to buy her lunch for one day out of the week. Stuff like that! I could probably think of tons more if I sit here long enough, but I'll stop babbling! Good Luck! :)

God Bless you! How thoughtful. I would include coupons for the coffee shop near her work, perhaps a take out coupon for a dinner was well. A recipe book for meals for busy moms, a wallet sized photo/brag book, a Mommy mug,a CD to listen to on the way to work (you could make your own if $$ a concern), Parenting Magazines, Hand cream for her. She's lucky to have such a thoughtful friend.

That is soooooo nice!!! If I where sending something like this I think it would have to be a framed picture of her and her baby to put in her work station or office.....If you wanted something just for her...erm.....maybe a voucher for the local Deli so you and her could have lunch one day!!
Good luck, you sound like a real nice friend!!

I think you should give something that would make her job easier and you should make a picture frame with some baby pics in it you can get cards with a recording device, record the baby laughing so she could listen on her job

Child tax credits is all you can claim. If you have a low salary you might get housing/council tax benefit.
