People close their mind when it comes to confusion. For example, if we want to buy a car, we keep our mind open. If we see some scratches, or patches on its body, we never close our mind, but rather tell the dealer "See here are some patches on this car's body.."
He never tells us the phrase "You just have to believe it" you just have to believe it that this is a new car.
I ask some of my friends in a decent way that why is that when it comes to religion, we are asked that "You just have to believe it." It's in our nature that if we want to do something, we wish for it.
For example, if I am in love with a girl, and I love her, I would wish, and tell her that "I love you, and I want to marry you.." It shows my nature that I am in love with her.
Lets say, I like to travel, I would wish to travel to different places. Similarly, if a girl wants to have sex with her husband, she would tell him that she wants to have sex with him.
But what if a girl doesn't want to have sex him, and the man wants to have it with her? She is not ready neither does she wish to do so. What if the man put a pistol to her head, and has sex with her, against her will? That becomes rape right? Ok now it would be better if you read the following also.
There is a verse in the Bible, that says that when Jesus (pbuh) was put on the cross, he said "My God my God why has thou forsaken me?" Jesus (Pbuh) asks God Why are You leaving me my God? Please my God help me, I am in trouble.
Well!! everytime I ask some of my friends that "OVER HERE JESUS (pbuh) DOES NOT EVEN WILL TO DIE FOR OUR SINS" If he will to die for our sins, he should have said that "Myself myself I am ready to die for the sins of the whole mankind." He would have used myself myself coz he is a God according to christianity. When we ask them about such things, they reply to us that "You just have to believe it", close your mind, and accept Him.

okay!
its really cool that u asked this as i recently came to this conclusion with my youth leader!
you don have to beleive nething just bcoz some1 asks u to- go do ur homework n beleive what u've arrived at!
ofcourse u may not b right- but thn if u've done ur research well enough it should be fine!
in this case-
use the bible!!!
if u look 2 the chapter on jesus when he goes to gethsemane to pray just b4 his arrest- u will see that 2 times he prayed 4 'this cup 2 b taken away' ie the cross; we see that he is afraid...understandable!
but the 3rd time he prayed- 'father if this ur will let it be done'
i think its lettign us into the human nature of jesus-
u see when he came down to the earth as jesus...he was essentially a man!
it was gods 'purpose in his life' that he died 4 all of humanity...it was hi spurpose- an option1
he had the oppurtunity to either take it or leave it1
u c if he didn't do what he did- there woul dbe no chance 4 humanity!
in essence he died 4 all of r sins- every1 of us in this world!
it was bcoz he loved us enough to die for us- imp thing to note here is that he was able to die(as he was sinless) n had th eoppurtunity!
but it was his choice was the trump card...n he got it;which shows that he wasn't forced to by god!
just as God never forces us 2 do stuff- an option- tis free will, see!(same thing he offered adam n eve; the tree!)
n on the cross he cried out un help coz he was in pain, ya!
natural n i'd say human enough1
but hey he did his bit! he got on thta cross n his blood was shed! he just wanted the painn lifted then!
also, he even then had th echoice of getting off that cross- he didn't take it- even when offered by the centurian! another chance failed!
hope u get my point but u r free to ur decision as its free-will see!
if it wasn't i guess der wouldn't b ne choice in religion!!!
hope it helps!
n there is nothing in christianity taht you would just have to accept- i beleive that there is a reason to n 4 everything! only job- u have to n stick with what u beleive!
i'll continue on my journey n u do urs! God bless!!!

Jesus is completely man and completely divine. Being completely human, he experience the same emotions we did - anger at the moneychangers in the Temple, sadness at the death of a good friend, and fear and trepidation when faced with a difficult task.
Yes, Jesus willingly died for us, but it was not without fear. Remember in the Garden, Jesus asked that this cup be taken from Him.
Jeus was hoping that there was some other way to fullfill the will of His Father, but also trusted the Father. This is a great example for all of us that have had to face difficult actions that are necessary.
His words "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me" is in response to the taunts thrown at Him regarding why God did not save Jesus.
These words come straight from Psalm 22. Those who heard Jesus say these words would recognize them as coming from this psalm. The people who heard this would also remember the later verses of this psalm,
"Then I will proclaim your name to the assembly; in the community I will praise you: "You who fear the LORD, give praise! All descendants of Jacob, give honor; show reverence, all descendants of Israel! For God has not spurned or disdained the misery of this poor wretch, Did not turn away from me, but heard me when I cried out. I will offer praise in the great assembly; my vows I will fulfill before those who fear him."
Jesus was saying that though it appeared that God Had abandoned Him, He is saying that even during all of the torture Jesus suffered, God DID NOT abandon Him.

Do not put words in Jesus's mouth that was not there. God had to turn his back on his Son cause Jesus took on the sins of the world. God cannot look upon sin.
John 10:18-No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have the power to lay it down, and the power to take it again. This commandment have I recieved of my Father.
Jesus went to the cross willingly.

What is pbuh?
___ Jesus was fully God...but also Fully Man. THAT in itself is tough to understand, i will will continue.
He KNEW what was about to happen...and as fully man.. even though He went to it willingly and with understanding of it.. be serious...Crucifixion is a scary and horrible way to die. Seen The Passion Of The Christ? It's brutal.
But there is one scene at the being where He asks God... "If there is a way to take this cup from me..."
That means, "Hey, God. Is there a way we can do what has to be done, without me having to go through all of that pain and agony?"
But then IMMEDIATELY He says, "Not MY will, but THINE be done." Like a child realizing... "yeah, what my Dad says I have to do is right, even though it's not what *I* would like to do."
That he cries out during all that... I would think would be MORE than acceptable. And remember .. to HIM (and later revealed to US) He was taking upon HIM all the sins sins of the world for ALL generation, and punishments for all OUR sins. Perhaps it was even MORE painful to Him (emotionally and psychologically) than we can imagine.
When I see The Passion Of The Christ...I understand... That was suppose to be MY punishment..but He took it for ME. And for YOU, and for Everyone.
That he cried out as a person Fully Man would?... I think we can excuse that. Don't You?

shadowofears,
I think that your main problem here is that you misunderstand what God did in Pslam 22, and that was to prophecy the things that would come to pass in Christ. That is; when the messiah would come to earth and lay His life down.
See here:
Psalms 22:1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
Psalm 22 is prophetic. It tells of certain things that the dying shephard must go through. All three Psalms, that is; 22, 23 and 24, all have a certain focus on the station, the purpose, and the person of Jesus. Pslam 22 focuses on the dying shepherd, as was explained to you by other posters, that laid His life down willingly. That is the truth of the part of what Jesus said that you brought up. Pslam 24 shows clearly that this man is also the King Of Glory:
Psalms 24:1 A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
And all creation belongs to Him. And He will revisit the Earth again as the Lord, who is mighty in battle.

Jesus didn't come on the world so his flesh could be perfected..If he was to say, well, I am going to go die for you now,,oh look at me, that is dwealing in your flesh,,you want man to look at how good you are..Well, God doesn't work that way,,he works out your heart and cuts off the fleshly desires..If man has the ability to hear from God, they choose not too..But don't let man tell you stop teaching his word..We are called to do that...even if man don't like it..

I think there was reluctance on his part, assuming any of this even happened the way the bible (which was written by man) portrays it. Probably in the end he realized that he was going to have to become a martyr for the cause, and at that point, there wasn't much he could do about it anyway.

there is THE DEITY -- THE FATHER, JESUS CHRIST THE SON OF GOD AND THE HOLY GHOST - HOLY SPIRIT. it was explained to me in this manner your dad is separate from your mom and you. your mom is separate from your dad and you and you are separate from your mom and dad yet you are all connected. now GOD may have forsaken JESUS on the cross in order for JESUS to become totally human in order to die not only to save mankind but to free the HOLY GHOST - HOLY SPIRIT which was contained in the mortal physical container HE had accepted as a mortal man.
