I reckon because they dont seem to get stopped by the police. Everybody knows someone with points on theri license for speeding. Does anybody know someone who has points for using a mobile phone?

I commute by bicycle and the one thing I fear on the road is drivers on mobile phones. They'll be the death of me.

Arrogance and the belief that they are genuinely better drivers than everyone else. That and the fact that the law only applies to other people. Maybe it's time that mobile phones were made so that they trigger traffic surveillance cameras if they are broadcasting within range and moving faster than a person can walk? Ought to catch out a lot of them.

Why do so many people litter?
Why do so many speed?
Why do so many drink and drive?
Why do so many Smoke?
Why do so many Steel?
Why do so many Kill?

The answer is cause we let them... If we had more strict laws, then everything would change.

If some1 steal, chop the hand.
If sum1 litter, R1000 fine.
Talk on phone while driving, suspend their license.
Murder - Death Penalty

The problem with this is there are so many p*ssy's out there (like some of you) who's against the death penalty or propper punishment...

I was just about to ask the same question. I just don't understand why people are becoming more and more selfish generally. This particular human form of selfishness really annoys me, particularly when I have to make an emergency manouver to prevent them having an accident with me because they are on the phone and not concentrating. GGGGGGRRRRRR!

Great question, when it only costs about £30 or free on contracts to get Bluetooth.

I used to cab 20 years ago and drink tea, smoke and phone all at once! I look back now and wonder how I did it!

Its good to be safe, I even use Bluetooth on my bike.

I think it's because the police haven't got the manpower to enforce this law for the most part. There are too many violent crimes being committed and there is no spare police capacity. Someone nearly ran me over on a crossing the other day because he was using his phone and not concentrating.

EGO- They think they are super drivers who can drive and talk on phone at the same time. They dont realize that such distraction is dangerous for them and for other road users. Stringent policing and prosecution and even cancellation of driving license is a good idea. They deserve it anyways.

Because they think they are soooo wonderful and nothing bad could happen to them, they are extremely irrogant and think they'd never cause an accident, they'd rather put their phone first before peoples lives, what twats, I dispair with the human race, what on earth has it come to, they should pull over then answer or talk on their phone, lazy buggers, these people won't listen, the morons, one was on the motorway in front of me the other day and he was swaying badly, of course they know best...NOT!!!!!!

because they thing the law revolves around them. but if they where to corse an accident it would be the innocent person who would get hurt and why? because the likes of the dangerous drivers and them who don`t listen to the law dont get a hard enough sentance or fined a high sum to make them think about what they have done. its not them or there family members that are getting hurt so they have no reason(in there eyes) to stop acting like idiots.

Usually because they're selfish, stupid and labouring under the false belief that they are a better driver than average people for whom the laws are made. Whenever I see somebody doing this, speeding, driving like a general arrse, I make a wish that they kill themselves before they kill anyone else. It hasn't happened yet, but you live in hope, eh?
