I have to say what mostly everyone will tell you just ask. Don't sit back another 4-5 years wishing you would of said something. If you have been hanging out as friends that long she must think you are a great person :now you just got to see that & go for it.

Believe me, we are so self-conscious we will not notice if you sound weird. We'll be thinking about how we sound/seem. And we love to hear about US!

Just say, "Would you like to go to the park/a movie/get an ice cream this Saturday?" or something like that.

I once asked out a friend and he turned me down, but so nicely and kindly that it almost felt like he's accepted! So even getting rejected is survivable; sounding weird certainly is.

Ask a common friend to invite both of you for some sort of lunch or dinner...or something like that. Tell her that you can pick her up on the way.......and while dropping her back, stop over at some coffee shop.........tell her that you enjoy the coffee here and you should visit again !! Shoot

HONESTY !!!! its doesn't sound weird and she will appreciate it....plus more than likely she likes you back and she's thinking the exact same thing you are and figures if you haven't ask her by now then you're not interested....life is short, ask her no matter what she says as least you'll know rather than always wonder what could have been.......

Tell her the truth. Do it easy. Don't just fly off the handle with like "Oh I love you, cant live without you, marry me" type thing. Tell her ou admire her, tell her why, and make sure she understands that no matter where this goes or what decision she makes , you want to always preserve the friendship.

im kinda going through the same thing rite now. all i can tell you is if yall have been friends for 5 years then nothing will be weird, just be casual about it. and follow your heat. for all you know she is feeling the same way about you. but youll never know unless you put forth some effort.

Why have you not asked her out all this time? If you guys hang out in a group I would ask her if she would like to hang out with you one-on-one, this way you wont scare her and you will be able to gauge whether she has any feelings for you while you are on your "date". If she doesn't like you in that way she will decline hanging out one-on-one.
don't be too pushy

Start off by saying: we've been friends along time, and I was hopeing you'd give me the pleasure of your company to join me for: dinner, a movie..........you get the drift!
Just ask..............doubt you'll scare her off if you've ben friends that long!!

Ask her what she thinks about it. And respect her answer. She may not want to jeopardize your friendship. Or she might be thinking the same thing that you are....good luck
