Serious answers please, I am asking this for a friend.

She is looking for verses in the bible, something along the lines of worshiping in your church and your church being where you make it via your home, building, park etc.

Thank you in advance.

Mathew 18:20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
Also
RO 16:5 Greet also the church that meets at their house.
Greet my dear friend Epenetus, who was the first convert to Christ in the province of Asia.
'Church' in the new testament is a mistranslation. It would be best translated 'community of believers'. No emphasis on a designated building. they keep it as church so people dont dont confused and think they can gather at home and have 'church'
Go figure.

Right off I cannot think of one like your asking.
Hebrews 10:25 says Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of some is, but exorting one another and so much the more as you see the day approaching.

NOTE: There is many verses telling you that the church is not a building but its us who are saved. But Paul set up buildings where saved people can gather and worship. Look at what happened in Acts when all the believers gathered. I believe souls was saved that day, cause they came together with Jesus on their mind. Sorry I could not help more.

I was under the same misconception that a church is a building. The church is the people. Think about the Amish people. They take turns meeting for church services in each other's homes.

When Paul traveled, the services were hosted by wealthy people in their homes. I Corinthians 16:19...Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.

The best way to find things in the Bible is by looking up a key word in a concordance. The one I listed is very thorough and not very expensive.

The question is wrong. The church in the Bible is not a place of worship but a group of believers, it’s only in modern times that it has become a place or building of worship. The synagogue is where they went to worship. The only thing along these lines that I can think of is in John, where Jesus met the lady at the well and she asks, “where should we worship? our people say here in the mountains and you Jews say in the temple.” Jesus says something like “The time is coming and is now here where God want those who will worship him in spirit and in truth.” He didn't’t say anything about a building or a place. Our body is the temple of God. Behold I stand at the door of your heart and knock if any man will open I’ll come in and have a meal with him. Pray in spirit and truth and meet God there in his temple your own heart. There is no man made holy place or thing

John 4:21 to start 21 Jesus said to her: “Believe me, woman, The hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will YOU people worship the Father. 22 YOU worship what YOU do not know; we worship what we know, because salvation originates with the Jews. 23 Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshipers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth.”

This is one reference to Christians Worship God everywhere all the time not so much as a building. Out of all the "churches" , remember that God wants his people to worship him his way by what he requires. e-mail me if you need further.

also there is the scripture of not forsaking the gathering, this also means that as Christians we do not just worship God alone all the time, it means we have to meet with other like minded Christians as well.

The "church" is referring to a body of believers...whether two or more are gathered in His name. The church is not necessarily a building, as we know it today. Believers worshipped together in early days on hillsides, Temples, or wherever people gathered to hear the Word. I worship in my home daily, but I gather with other believers at my "church" when I can....we worship together, we play together, we eat together, and we come to know, love, and encourage each other. I find this to be very supportive, and you learn so much from each other. Finding the "church" that you are comfortable in, and feel where God would have you worship is important. I find "organized" religion structured too much by man, so am quite pleased with a church "home" that is Bibilically based, who teached only from the Bible, and who loves and encourages each other....very supportive. You learn how important this is whenever you are faced with a crisis, and need each other...and prayer warriors that are lifting you up in prayer. Yes, anyone can "worship" anywhere....through song, talking with God, praying together, and serving each other's needs. A good concordance will give your friend dozens of references to the word "church". Romans 16:5 for example, gives reference to "greet the church that is in their house", as they often met in homes. Your friend may want to have a small group of believing friends to study and pray with, but I would encourage her/him to gather together, as we are encouraged to do. We need each other in this world today.

We are not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together. I don't remember exactly where this is. Also they overcame by their words and testimony.

These tell of the importance of going to church and of fellowship together. We build each other up.
