I publish a pagan e-paper, Right now I am writing a story about how the negative confessions pre-date the 10 commandments by 2000 years and possibly copied by Moses to make the 10 commandments, However I can not find a site that the 42 negative confessions are defined and compared to the 10 commandments? Can anyone point me in the right direction? So far I have gotten to the 11th negative confession where Hail, Basti, who comest forth from Bast, I have not eaten the heart. needless to say I can not find the definition for this confession?

The negative confessions are from the Papyrus of Ani

if your referring to what I think your referring to...

then the best I've heard of that might be remotely related to what your looking for is this,

http://www.sacred-texts.com/egy/ebod/

but thats just book of the dead info... most notably the complete translation of the Book of Ani, which from what I remember from a documentary I watched... probably is the most likely source for what you want.

but of course its not all sifted out and directly compared.

that'd be too easy, eh?

honestly I'd be interested in such a site too, even though I am jewish, it sounds like a fascinating thing to read about.

The Negative Confessions

There was a documentary on the History Channel on the Book of the Dead and it had the comparison.

the link given already is the main one I have seen. I don't know about any sites that have comparisons - you might have to make your own. They are pretty easy to see if you read through them.

Then there is the whole code of Hammurabi thing.

I guess intellectual property and plagiarism didn't apply with ancient religions.

We all know what Paganism is. But few know the 10 commandments.
If we did and followed them, on this planet
there would be world peace.
Why would you want to compare them to anything?
