This is a question that cannot be proven one way or the other. For example:

Religious logic:
a) Everything has a beginning.
b) The universe must have had a beginning.
c) God must have created it.
d) God did not have a beginning.

So, they must violate (a) to support (d). They refuse to consider that once (a) is violated, (b) is no longer supported by any logic. That, in turn, removes the logic for (c).

Atheist logic:
a) The universe had a beginning.
b) Nothing caused it.

It is irresponsible to go any further in logic, so unless you are a fundie who has no common sense, and are irrational, then do not consider this hole in logic. Honestly speaking, but don't let anyone else know, the logic of the above leads one to conclude that:

c.) The universe does not exist.

How God came into existence? Look, you can come up with many good reasons to believe in God and that He does exist. You just cannot prove it. I do not believe my life is a random quirk of nature and my life is meaningless, or my kids. Belief in a creator allows for purpose, and morals, and destiny. Otherwise, in the grand scheme of nature, life is totally meaningless.

However, it is your choice.

Theists always claim how the law of Cause-Effect is proof of God's existence. However, they claim that God himself is exempt from this law, being the first cause. If God doesn't need a creator, neither does the universe. Who created God? Nothing created God, as God doesn't exist.

Think of this : Everything that exists within the natural realm is a created thing. All created things have a beginning.

God is not a created thing, but rather, is the Creator.

Since time itself is also a created thing, God is outside of time. Since 'beginning' is part of the concept of time, God created the concept of 'beginning', but is not bound to such a concept.

Therefore, since He is the Creator, beyond the natural, and outside of time, He therefore has no beginning, and as such, is not created.

Yep, you are going to get a lot of nonsense answers like the previous.

In their mind the universe couldn't have always existed, but for some reason God can? I think they have it in their heads that God could do anything, but the way of the universe may not be able to do likewise (chaos).

Does a circle have a beginning or end? No and neither does God. You don't create what is infinite. Linear time is an illusion unique to our material universe.

God is I AM. He has always existed. He invented time and exists outside of it.
