be carefull whoever you date,i was a British soldier some years ago (male) i served 22 years and have seen them come and go, they are mostly like sailors(one in every port) but dont be put of by this as there are good and bad in all walks of life if you fancy a soldier go get him just be wary, i could go on but i wont i am happily married just celebrated my 40th this year, i think a service life is a good one, if you fall for a soldier be prepared to leave home, as his career comes first.

If you're going on a date with a British soldier, thing "going Dutch". A British soldier's pay is low and unless he's saved up for his leave, he won't have a hell of a lot to spend. Let him take you to the pictures.

Great if he's stationed in the UK, but if abroad isn't not, your arm aches from writing, the phone bill is massive, (that's both sides), trust on both sides is paramount. If he's in a hot sandy place, well constant worry, you're watching sky news all the time, practically throwing up if there's news from that area never mind his regiment, then total relief when the phone rings and he's at the end of it alive and well. Apart from that fantastic. As for the reunions.

my dad is a service british soldier, SSGT, ( staff seargant) its hard being in a military background, this is becasue he always has to go away and sometime this is 6mnts+ at a time. its hard on the relationships because you have to be very strong to be able to manage a long distance relationship. and you miss out on lots of things, this goes for the kids and wifes/husbands.

Hard work.....ok if they're on camp nearby but if there's any distance involved then it becomes hard work!!!! As for everyone saying that all squaddies are after one thing they aren't....not all of them anyway!!! Most I know are really nice blokes and would love to have a long term relationship with someone they can trust.

It can be pretty lonely if they have a long posting abroad. I think it takes a special person to cope with that kind of arrangement.

It would probably depend on where he's stationed at the moment. If he's been serving in Iraq, then he might have some PTSD issues to contend with...
