After a spring & summer of sleeping with a different girl every weekend (yes, really), I'm taking a relationship seriously, for two months now. This girl is fabulous, sexy, intelligent and sweet. I love her to pieces. But I still have a nagging voice at the back of my mind telling me I should mate with every woman on the planet. Does it ever, ever go away?

OK, first of all, having read a few answers, I play safe, always used condoms. Second, there is no way I would cheat on a partner. I'm confident enough to split with someone before I'd cheat on them; I have no fear of being left on my own. Interesting answers so far :o)

no-But you can have higher quality with one gal.Almost like dancing after you both find out what moves float each others boats.Safer with one gal pal because of stds and maybe relationship problems you don't know about. Cheaper with one gal because it cost a lot to go out and look.Well if you got a good one and you probaly know how rare they are it would be wise to keep her.

Well look at it this way, would you rather sleep with a different girl every weekend, or be with this one.
No, the voice will probably never completley go away, but the more you ignore it the less it will call, it will be really tempting sometimes im sure and the urge can be really strong sometimes i'm also sure.
You have to be a man about it and resist. Sleeping with a different girl is something men can do, but I do not think it is healthy for any person because eventually you are going to hit an std.
So good luck to ya, eh.

I was 26 and felt worried I was becoming an alcoholic.
So, I quit drinking cold turkey. About that time I became a lot more conscious and focussed because all that loose mating crap seemed like a lot of work with not much left over afterwards. All you have is numbers to a bunch of easy women that are getting rammed by some other dude if you havent stayed on it yourself. I decided to find a good chick to marry.
So ya, it should go away. Youll want intimacy eventually.

the way i see it is this- if u care for her then b with her wholeheartedly. when u feel that urge just find her and do it with her, if not fantasise about her and ****. not that hard really. it will go away more than u think. if u dont stay with her, one day u will end up alone and lost with HIV or something else. wake up and smell the good woman u've got!!!!!!!!!!!! we r hard to find. u sleep with nothing but loose women who have no pride in themselves or others like them. keep ur girlfriend bcuz u love her, not something 2pass the days with! let me know how u get on, hot_mamma666@yahoo.com

It is only natural for a guy in his 20,s and 30,s to want to shag every bit of fluff he can. It boils down to evolution where guys spread his wild oats with as many women as he can. That is why so many guys cheat (most of my male friends do anyway) As a guy gets older into his 40,s he is less likely to cheat that a women who by now will have been in a relationship for some time and often get bored with the same guy. It is only human nature.

oh dear oh dear.
sounds like you need to grow up and mature a bit before you settle down with anyone.
all boys are randy little goats in their teens and early 20s, but when your looks start to go and no one's interested any more you'll be lucky enough to realise how much more satisfaction you can get from a loving relationship than from chasing after anything with a pulse.

Yes it does ... now you're with someone you obviously like a lot, it should go quickly ...
It may come back after a period of a few years though, and it's up to you then to decide if you've got an itch that needs scratching ;-)

It does as and when you are ready to settle down. If you loved this girl like you say you do, there wouldn't be reason to want to play the field.
I suggest you finish with her and carry on the way you were before you met. Either that or get your act together and start being the man.

Old habits die hard... so it will take time, but will never go away completely. As long as you both work together to make the relationship fulfilling, then you shouldn't have any reason to go elsewhere.
