Need some great smoked meat recipes
what are approx cooking times?

I'm honestly not sure of cooking time on a smoker because I've only used this recipe on a grill...for salmon filets.

Marinade for 24-48 hours (i slice into serving size pieces and stick each in a ziploc bag with marinade) in
whiskey/burbon
pineapple juice (equal parts)
brown sugar

sorry, but I do everything without measurements...

My mom has a smoker and the best thing she made so far was porkchops. Make sure you get hickory wood chips, they add better flavor. Next put uncooked pork chops, mushrooms, and onions in aluminum foil and seal tightly. It takes around 5 to 6 hours to smoke so I suggest you do this early in the morning. It makes it own juices and the pork just falls off the bones. Everyone will love this. You can also smoke a turkey, but those instructions are in the booklet that came with the smoker.

this is a very simple one and the best one of my favourites
try it out
1 (4 pound) whole chicken
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped

Preheat an outdoor grill for low heat.

Rinse chicken inside and out. Pat dry. Loosen skin around the breast area. Place butter in various places under the skin.

Mix herbs together and place half under the skin and the other half inside the chicken.

Cook chicken with smoke for 4 hours or until juices run clear when poked with a fork
