It's okay to have bugs in the seed. You'll want to make sure they don't spread elsewhere in the home by sticking the bag of seed in the freezer overnight. The bugs are a source of extra protein and the birds don't seem to mind the 'treats'!

Nope, the bugs you typically find in bird seed are just like another user said....they're extra sources of protein! :) But for your sanity's sake I'd recommend keeping bird seed in the freezer so that any bugs/eggs/larvae are killed and don't spread throughout your household. It's amazing how fast those little buggers will take over your house and how hard they are to get rid of...I speak from experience! *grumbles: "darned flour beetles..."*

u should find out if your birds can eat bugs den ur'l be cool but da weavels won't kill ur birds dey might just get sick if they can't eat meat but no i don't think anything bad would happen to dem cos itz only weavels.

If they get in their air sac, they can do serious damage.

Since there is usually something in seeds, try refrigerating the seed when you open it to keep insect eggs from hatching.

Maybe if the bird seed they were eating was poppy, otherwise no.
