I've just started working out and was wondering how long it will take until I see noticible results? I'm 24 years old. I'm not fat, I just want to lose maybe 10 pounds and mostly just tone up and get definition. I'll be working out 3 days a week (the days I have class so I can use the rec center at college). I'm planning on doing about 60 min cardio and 30 min weight training or 45 min cardio and 45 min weight traning.

How long should I expect to wait in order to see noticible results? I'm rather impatient and don't want to get discouraged after 2 weeks and quit if I don't see results. Thanks

they generally say 6-8 weeks for real results to show. Don't get discouraged, plus, you see yourself every day so you won't notice slight changes day by day. Take a picture of yourself every couple of days on a disposable camera and line them up after that 6-8 weeks and then see how you've done.

You should get results after the first few days. DON'T use a scale to check your weight. Muscle is heavier then fat and you will get a false weight report. This will cause discouragement.
Use body mass index to keep track of your progress.
Do not scale yourself everyday. If you must use a scale do it at the end of a weeks work out cycle. Remember to eat plenty of high protein foods. 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight.
Try to eat small meals about every 2 hours.
Don't starve yourself or your body will go into self preservation mode and you will keep your fat.
LOTS of fresh water ...

You feel differant in just a week or two. As for seeing results it could be upto 4-6 weeks before you are seeing visable results

Good Luck

immediately - the heart responds by pumping more blood to muscles and thus the result is immediate - try it - use a measuring tape after your workout to measure the muscle groups that you have worked on
