why is it when i go on holiday to my fathers up north i cant get rissoles from the chip shop and cant get savaloys in my chip shops in south wales.I went on holiday up north and asked for rissole and they looked at me stupid my father always buys rissoles when he visits and i always buy savaloy when i visit him.Its a bit stupid but would love to know why.

just to let people know a rissole is potatoe,corned beef,onion,rolled into a ball then breadcrumbs around it.

Thanks goodness we still have regional variation.

Waht a bore the world would be if we got exactly the same thing everywhere.

That aint a rissole, but what the heck. It's regional taste and traditions luv. Savaloys used to be a Jewish speciality, that's why they are more common in London. Don't know about Shish-Kebabs though.

I have never heard of a Rissole! But I know you cant buy savaloys up north. Till I moved to London I never knew you could buy them in chip shops.
I love scraps too, but you dont get them down south!

Where I come from in Sunderland we call that a corned beef pattie????-except ours are covered in batter

never heard of them stick too fish & chips every one else does!!!
