What is to be questioned is the means of allowing these girls to build their self-esteem, overcome their insecurities and form supportive relationship. Can or could someone be the pioneer. I have seen you Tyra do it on your first show (the girls camp you started in the States) I viewed in Malaysia. Even though it was delayed by months I was enthralled by the possibility of being able to help the girls you intended through your own way. And I'll say it again: "What are the means available for some communities to help these girls?" We are all born with a purpose in this world, talents, ideas, strengths and weaknesses. The media does terrible damage to young impressionable minds. However, I have noticed recently that there are more ads and more idols being marketed that are not the supermodel thin type. Which is a good start but we need even more diversity in that aspect. The problem with the media is that they don't let people see the reality only the finished product .. these so called models have flaws just like everyone.

I overcame my shyness by choosing to work a job where I deal with complete strangers all day. The more contact you have with random people, the more comfortable you will become being around others. I used to hate being around anyone I didn't know, but now I welcome those unfamiliar faces. Also, if you try to break out of your shell, and you really feel you cannot, then id suggest talking with a professional about social anxiety disorder. For the next few days, try starting up a conversation with a total stranger. It may be really hard at first, but if your polite and genuine then people will respond in a very positive way.
BTW - It may seem strange, but conversation with the opposite sex is usually much easier. I consistently find that starting a conversation with a girl is far easier, more stimulating, and afterwords the boost in confidence can be intoxicating and addictive :D

Lots of people are shy! You just start by saying Hi, I'm ....."" What's your name? Then make a compliment. Nice shirt. I like that color.
Then ask a question that doesnt require a yes or no answer. Pick a topic of discussion pertaining to whatever situation...if youre in a bookstore, ask how often and what types of books. Anyway, being shy is something that you cant get away from, but you can always start with a smile and a friendly hello and practice with coworkers, classmates. You dont have to make friends or expect friends overnight...just use those steps as a guide to feel a bit more confident. Good luck!

You have started very well to overcome your shyness. Try and meet new people. Dress well -i mean orderly- and try to talk to new people. Play some games with people.Do something stupid each day that make you feel weird. look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that you are beautiful no matter what

What you need is a bit of confidence. When talking to people, imagine that they are just friends and that they cannot judge you as you are the perfect guy with no flaws. If you believe that you are confident you will project that to other people and they will automatically be drawn to that. So stand in front of that mirror and start telling yourself that you are the hottest guy around and no one can resist that smile of yours.

Fake it. I'm the world's shyest person but no one knows it because I choose not to be shy around people by 'pretending' not to be shy.
