Where is your origin?, reason please before answer.

It is called the dark continent because of all the unexplored territory. Still today, much of the continent remains unexplored. It remains mysterious and dark. By origin do you mean where did I originate? Anyway I originate from N California.

It got the nickname'dark continent during the late 1700's early 1800's when the world was being explored, but it was so hard to travel through Africa that it remained unknown. I t was dark in terms of accurate knowledge about it.

Im hispanic, but anyway, I dont think Africa is a dark continet because there are mostly black people there, but because of all the poverty and disease that is going on there right now. It doesnt matter if u r balck or white in Africa, poverty is poverty and disease is disease. The number one killer disease in Africa is AIDS, its killy many poele each day. Also, families are starving over there. THAT is what make Africa a dark continent.

No... Africa was the last continent to get electricity, thereby leaving in the "Dark."
