why is that only people that their parents, grand parents or their great grand parents emmigrated to this country shout loudest about illigal immigration. i want know what our moral standing, is since there is no place in history where, an invitation was sent to our forfathers to come and dwell in this country have birth to our parents then us and having all the previllages and right in this United states. if there is such i want to know about it. they came in their 1000s, in ship load. what special invition, previleges, or visas did they come to america with. i just want to know, because i think people should stop blaming these innocent people for everything wrong with America. why cant we give them the same opportunity accorded our own grand parents when they came to America. even the argument on the economic implication is baseless, i think we are not telling ourselves the truth.....................................comment incorage

Well said! All Americans except for Indigenous ones were illegal immigrants at one point. Even the so-called invited ones. Who invited them? The guys that stole the land from the natives and tried to exterminate them. That goes for the Spanish era too, so they don't get let off either.

I am all for immigrants coming to this country, but I also think if they are going to come to America they should learn to speak English. Nothing bugs me more than going to a store and not getting what I ask for because the person that is helping me doesn't know what I am saying. I also think they should be paying taxes. I know, some of them do, but I also know that a lot of them don't. They should have all the rights Americans have, but with those rights comes responsibility. Most immigrants I know work very hard, so in no way am I bashing them. I just think they should speak the language if they are going to come here and live.

Everybody is welcomed to come to America because the original Americans have no visas when they came and drove away the Natives to the hinterlands.

It was legal because it wasn't illegal. My latest ancestors to cross actually did have an 'invitation', it was called the Homestead Act. Our country needed people in particular areas of the US and gave land in return for people making a viable farm out of the land and living on it for a set period of years. Beyond that, my family helped build and pay for the infrastructure and society that was built here, for themselves AND THEIR DESCENDANTS. Do you or do you not want to make this world a better place for your future family line?
They earned it for us as we try to earn a better life for our own families.
Beyond that, we pay the benefits for schools and education, and poor people, even if they do pay all taxes they owe, simply don't come near to covering their own benefits. Each one is a net loss and degrades the schools and health care centers they use by that much. When there were a smaller number of illegals it was a smaller problem. Now it is a huge problem. That problem is why ALL countries limit or prohibit poor immigrants.
In border states and areas where illegals concentrate, our schools are failing and health care and services are failing our own people. Their better life is at our expense and our children are paying the biggest price through lack of their OWN upward mobility through quality education.

Yes, I remember very well when my ancestors migrated to Finland. The first time was when the ice receded after the ice age...
