The military is all about good hygiene. They will issue white underwear (briefs and t-shirts). No pajamas at all.

The closest thing they get to jammies now is their ACU's (new combat uniform). While they're not technically sleepwear (unless you're in the field and you have to sleep where you sit), they've been referred to as resembling pajamas by many people since they came out, perhaps considering that they're wash and wear, no pressing required, so often it looks like the soldiers actually did sleep in them before coming to work. And if you want to call the new digital pattern "camo", yes, you could say the Army gets issued camo pajamas. I can't personally vouch for their comfort, but they have the durability of a wet paper towel.

The most you will get is a PT uniform....

Now as for Sgt. I think thats the stupidest comment I have ever heard. With the fact that its coming form an NCO you know they have to be Army. I may be in the AF but with my job I live and work aside Army Spec Forces calling in air strikes so dont go off thinking that everyone in the AF has a nice warm and fuzzy job...

Alright enough said....

You do get these wonderfully comfortable polypropalene long underwear, they're brown and really silky and warm on a cold night. They are super-comfy.

if you're in the army you get brown underwear. good stuff. You sleep in PTs, and they don't give you enough of those to not feel like a dirty bird.
