How can I come to live in the US?

I live in the Uk and I would like to live in say CAlifornia for a change. Can I really do that? My savings would last me for a month or two?
Could I work there once I get there?

only if you get a visa saying that you can work.

You could try looking into work visas or you could just visit for a while. Some get married to a U.S citizen to live there. Or join the U.S. military where you can work for citizenship.
