I've done it. In fact I shaved my head in anger once. The first thing I did after both husbands left me was to cut my hair very short. The second time I was patient enough to have my hairdresser do it. For me it was because men always tell me they love my hair long but I like it better short. When I get mad, I decide to stop pleasing them and start pleasing myself. If your boyfriend hasn't mentioned liking your hair long, maybe he plays with it or just seems to like it. Or else it might be a case of taking your anger out on yourself instead of him.

Not quite as extreme as you did, but yeah I have cut my hair just to piss someone off.
My bf and I had a huge arguement about him being too controlling.
He'd always loved my hair long, all girly and femine.
The day after the arguement I booked an appointment at the hairdressers and went from shoulder length to a bob!
I felt great after doing it, very liberating. Turns out he liked my hair better that way?!
Crazy!! x
It's a control thing with me, I was making a statement ''I am in control and I will do exactly as I please, when I please'' sometimes it's a cry for attention?
But only you know deep down your reasons for doing it. x Your not mad just a little bit emotional!!

Sure did. I had my boyfriend cheat on me with a girl that had at least 2 inches of hair, and at the time I had hair to my shoulders, so I cut all of my hair off to 1 inch. He said he likes short hair women, but when he seen what I did he broke up with me. Lesson learned? My hair grew back better and longer. He's divorced with six kids paying child support. hahahahahahahahaha!

I thought about it. I decided to bleach it instead. I was laughing joke on my college campus since dark black hair bleaches to bright orange with the cheap stuff I must've bought. Anyway, the professor who had been challenging my resolve was dumbfounded and all involved thought I came away a winner, except for the fact that it was 3 months before my hair started looking normal again.

Done that before when I was 14. I had hair to my lower back and I cut it in a rage to my shoulders (However, I was sffering from untreated bipolar disorder at the time).
I've never had my hair long since then...

This is a reason why some people self harm/become bulimic/anorexic etc. Maybe the issue is that you needed to regain control of something in your life.
