hi all, i used to have a very substantial life. money and material things. i was'nt wealthy by any means but i was comfertable i had no wife or kids to worry about, then i blew it all away in a moment of madness. 2 years later i have a fiance who literally pulled me from the gutter. we are having serious financial hardship. we both work but on a low income its hard to survive. i'm ok with that i'm lucky and optimistic but sometimes for the g/f it gets too much and she can't take it. on saturday my sister seen this and took us out for a night out. she did'nt do it for me, she did it for the girlfriend. her act of kindness took my girlfriend from a sobbing wreck into the queen of the ball. she danced and laughed and had a good old drink with female company. my sister is pretty well off, and has everything she wants or needs whats a good present to say "thank you"? i am gifted at writing, but my handwriting is pathetic, a thank you note isn't enough for me. any other ideas? please!

I think the smallest gesture is as good as an expensive present. A small bunch of flowers and a nice letter explaining your thanks will have more impact than anything. Its what you say not how you say it.

Good luck for the future.

well i am guessing that if Ur sister has everything then she wont need anything material something from the heart like write her a thank u poem but if Ur not very confident about Ur handwriting print it up on paper and maybe paste it to an thank u card and get her some flowers or chocolates as well I'm sure she probably doesn't expect anything in return she seems to be very kind hearted and loving she is obviously a very caring person!!!!!

Well your sister that has everything would probably appreciate a nice lunch in a park. And have something nice that you have written from your heart about how you appreciate her and what she has done. You can make this a special time that doesn't cost you a fortune. It's the simple things in life that really matter. And she probably would enjoy the time out side to get away from things and just relax.

Since you are gifted at writing, write what you want to say in Microsoft Word and then change the font to something fancy (but readable) and cut it out and paste into a nice blank card, then sign it. And go to the flower shop and get a carnation wrapped up all pretty with baby's breath, greens, and a ribbon.

Considering the financial difficulties you are in, I think your sister would be annoyed that you spent money on her especially when a thank you would suffice.

Why don't you just invite her round for a thank you Sunday roast. She might appreciate not having to cook and wash up. Good luck for the future and be thankful you have a lovely girlfriend and sister.

make handwriting enough for you, having been financially ok and then broke, you need to change and accept reality, you can't afford luxuries, so, write a thank you and be content with that. I am sure monetry items won't be missed by your well off sister, she did something for kindness, not for thank you gifts.

Knowing the situation ur in,your sister won't expect anything more than you're "thank you"note.Anyway,I think it's a good idea to send her a bouquet!

What about taking her out just the 2 of you and talk about old times etc.

Send her a bouquet and if that's too pricey go to the nursery and choose a potted flower plant (and they don't die) or if that's not personal enough pick her some flowers and deliver them personally
