Right click on Start button, Properties> Taskbar tab > Notification area Customize: You can choose Always Hide, Always Show or Hide When Inactive for all the programs and apps that have appeared on your task pane.

Second option is to go to RUN (from start menu), and type MSCONFIG. Go to Startup tab and uncheck programs that you do not want to start up automatically when you turn on your computer.

Either you remove it from Start=>Program Files=> Startup or get into msconfig by typing the same in the run line, go to the startup tab and uncheck the unwanted program.

You need administrator priveleges to achieve this.

All the best!

start menu, then choose run. In the field write "msconfig". Go to start-up tab up right, then choose what to start or not to start when your computer is booting. This way you can also make your computer work faster by closing undesirable programs to work in background and "eat" your resources (ram, processor, etc)
