Even allowing for cultural differences I've never been able to understand why a holy man would have sex with a 9-year-old child who was brought in from playing for him (a man in his 50s) to "deflower." If anyone can explain the holiness in that I'd appreciate hearing about it.

Firstly, i have never heard of this and the Qur'an (the ONLY hadith a Muslim should follow) never says that he married Aisha when she was 6, 9 or 7 years old, this is fabricated hadith.
The source of the above information can only be the Hadiths books which are nothing but lies attributed to prophet Muhammad, lies which have been in turn picked up by people wishing to find things against Islam,. It has no support in Quran at all. It does not make practical sense. Any person at the age of six is still a child who is incapable of taking crucial decisions which are essential for marriage under Quranic guidance, like taking solemn pledge, ascertaining mutual attraction, agreeing to the dowry (including adjustment thereto), ascertaining whether the opposite person is an idol worshipper or not and many other issues. Further, marriage involves taking serious responsibilities on the part of both the spouses concerning the upbringing of the family, which a child of the age of 6 or 8 or whatever is incapable of taking. All of these conditions and responsibilities are essential in Islamic marriage.
God commanded us in the Quran not to accept any Hadith but the Quran. The prophet Muhammed himself ordered his followers not to write any hadiths and to write only the Quran. . All the stories circulating on the Internet and in the hadiths books about Aisha's marriage at age of 6 or 9, are no more than lies found in the corrupted books of Hadiths and completely contradict the teachings of the prophet Muhammed that came from his mouth, the Glorious Quran. We only need to read the Quran to know how false these stories are.

First of all, u got the ages wrong.
Then, Prophet Mohammad (May Peace and Blessings of ALLAH Be Upon Him) was a Very Wise Man, and He knew to interpretate dreams.
Then, He had the communication with ALLAH (GOD) going on, so if He was abt to do sthg wrong, then Certainly ALLAH (GOD) would have stopped Him.
Then, Hazrat (Lady) Ayesha (May ALLAH Be Pleased With Her) is refered to in The Holy Quran, as Prophet's (Peace Be Upon Him) Wife.
Then, how could She had become His Daughter (GOD Forbid), when She already had a Father. ... for example, will u take ur neighbours Son/Daughter to be ur Son/Daughter, even if the parents are well, healthy and alive? but, u Can marry them, cant u?
i think i presented enough common-sense to make the point clear of Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), and if u still can't see it, then i can't help it. Peace to All.

A prophet is sent from Gd therefore Gd is all knowing and knows things like this are wrong and evil.
Saying things were done like that in those days does not cut it.
A holy prophet would not have loads of wives and kill people in the first place.
Im non white so dont say im racist and dont say I hate muslims,my husband comes from an Islamic country,he is Mid Eastern.
All I care about is love light and peace.
Everyday here its just going around in circles and giving excuses.
Believe what you like & follow your psycho false prophet.
One love,one race.
One G-d.

muhammed was a liar and a pedophile. Many of his prophecies failed making him a liar, which islam says a prophet cannot be! He went to the pagan kabba, went through 350 idols and found allah and declared it the god of islam. Islam's allah was nothing more than a throw away idol. Some Muslims have claimed that the word "Allah" is in the Bible because the Biblical word "Allelujah." They then mispronounce the word as "Allah-lujah" But "Allelujah" is not a compound Arabic word with "Allah" being the first part of the word. It is a Hebrew word with the name of God being "JAH" (or Yahweh) and the verb "alle" meaning "praise to." It means "praise to Yahweh." The Arabic word "Allah" is not in the word.
The same error is found in the Muslim argument that the word "Baca" (Psa. 94:6) really means "Mecca." The valley of Baca is in northern Israel.
The present meaning of a word is irrelevant to what it meant in ancient times. The word "Allah" is a good example. When confronted by the historical evidence that the word was used by pagan Arabs in pre-Islamic times to refer to a high god who was married to the sun-goddess and had three daughters, some Muslims will quote dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc. to prove that "Allah means God." They are thus using modern definitions to define what the word meant over a thousand years ago! What "Allah" means now has no bearing on what it meant before Muhammad.
A book made over 100 years after mohammed. A book NOT in its original form because all the draft copies were burned under fear of death. A book claiming lineage to Abraham from Ishmael, and that since Ishmael was born before Isaac, he was the firstborn and the one taken to the mountain. God did NOT recognize Ishmael as the firstborn though as he was born out of wedlock. Abraham was to sacrifice his son as proof to God of his faith. The Lord stopped him from doing that though as we know. That being the case, a sacrifice had to be as pure as possible. Ishmael being born out of wedlock did not fit the bill, this was overlooked for the blessings to come by God. Isaac fit perfectly! More here...

if you look at many marriages during biblical times, older men married girls of puberty age all of the time, she was 9, things that were the norm back then may not the norm now(for example in the US, there are cases were family members actually molest other family members),, the thing is there was an official marriage

he stronger story or Hadith about Ayesha's age at marriage supposes tha she was 12 and she joined the prophet (pbuh) when she became 15-16 years old .. not the one you know she was 6-9 years...and for te vision story I'll search and update my answer ..hang on pls.

now..The vision was not an order from God to marry her but was like a prediction or telling the prophet about his future wife...and it was clearly mentioned when I read the Hadith tha God old Mohamad (pbuh) that she will be his wife and not he understood that from himself.

peace.
