What you mean "we," Kimosabe? Many people genuinely like their work, although I suspect it is more the professionals and the self-employed than those who have jobs in the conventional sense. But for 16 years I worked as a legal secretary for two nice guys who were (still are) good lawyers and good bosses, and I looked forward to Monday mornings.
This Wednesday it will be one year since I was laid off from that job, and now I am retired. I took an 18-week course in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer programs, which made me realize that I could not compete with people half my age and half my weight, so I retired. Now I'm working on opening a bookstore. I can't think of anything I'd rather do. I will probably have to be forced to stay home if I ever get sick.

Basically we are lazy people and accordingly we first and foremost intend to avoid it as though we dont require. If still required than we look for the easiest path. If still not available than plan the work and again economise the path and than do it. In short we work like ape our original source
