How do we find the natural frequencies of a cantilevered plate

Thought experiment: what happens if you saw the plate into cantilevered beams? They all vibrate the same as one beam, right? So is there any difference when you weld them all back together?

I use a simple minded approach to these vibration problems. First use the beam formulas to determine the spring constant. Force/deflection.

Then plug the spring constant into your harmonic equations. Be careful. The amplitude of the vibration is going to be in the units you use to convert the weight to mass. Its worked for me on simple structures, The errors tend to be on the conservative side.
