Because 'hell' is just another word for 'wild, kinky sex'.
Most people don't realize this.
When a Christian tells you to burn in hell...
well, yeah... time to get the 'toys' out, baby!

They do that because anyone who doesn't share their faith is "evil", "not worthy of forgiveness or God's grace", etc.
The Bible clearly states that God is the only who has the authority to judge anyone but they feel the need to "play God" with other people even though they have been told not to do so. Makes you wonder though, how many people who claim to be Christians actually read the very scriptures they are preaching to everyone, regardless of whether the actions are invited or not, most of the time it's the latter. I would venture to assume they do this becasue they feel God is being way too lax with the nonbelievers and not striking them dead with lightning the way that nonbelievers in the Bible were dealt with, so they're stepping in and doing his work for him. Some people are simply not happy with anything unless they are bullying others, and it does not stop when they leave grade school playground.

The "Christians" who tell people they will burn in hell, etc... are not really exemplifying the way of the Christian. God is all loving, all knowing, and all forgiving and that is the bottom line. According to the bible everyone is a sinner. You're made to mess up, it's how we learn. Fanatical Christians seem to run roughshod through the world under the blanket excuse of being "Forgiven" or "Saved". They do not realize how they are NOT "loving thy neighbor" when they threaten them with damnation. It's not their place to judge you. God doesn't want the world to fear him.
NEVER take it heart when a zealot tells you you're going to burn in hell. Just say you'll see them there... because it's funny.
God loves you for all of your faults and mistakes. God celebrates your successes and knows your heart... you are His creation.

Not all Christians do this. As a Christian I know that all have sinned and I am far from being worthy of his grace. All religions have those who set themselves above others. The crown themselves and decide to be judges. The Holy Bible tells us not to judge. You will be judged the way you judge. We should love each other and never look down at anyone because I know that no matter how much you love God you can fall. Please don't judge all Christians because of a few. I hope this helps. Thanks for asking.

Oh, I've been told I'm going to burn in hell many times by Christians and even some Catholics. Unfortunately it comes with being Wiccan. Never mind...

Where in the bible does it say 'Love the Sinner'? Its explicit in saying that sinners burn in hell and that the followers of Christ are not to associate with them, in some books it is anyway.

No they dont threaten. They just point out the truth. That is what it means by loving the sinner, by pointing out where they are headed. Love the sinner does not mean love the sin or condone sinful action.

You are not meeting the right christian or they are immature. Unfornately that "fire & brimstone" approach of the 20th century has stuck as a stigma. Many churches nowadays are embracing a closer Jesus approach to the tax collector & sinner of His times.

We do? The message our religion commands us to preach is not "burn in hell," but come and be saved unto eternal life. Our religion is a religion of blessings, not curses. I apologize that we human representatives have been so terribly misrepresenting our God. God does not say "go to hell," He says "come to me."

They are coming from their egos instead of their spiritual nature. Ego is responsible for all of the negative the goes on in this world.
