Is the storehouse the preacher's pocket; or is it the church; or is it something else?

I don't know about all churches, but I know my uncle left 30,000 to his church. The next week, the rectory had all new eathen allen (sp?) furniture. My aunt, who is still alive, told the church she'd never even had that nice of furniture and was very dissapointed.

I have always said churches were nothing but a business, and it's true. If they weren't money hungry, they'd have no reason to ask people to remember the church in their wills. That is just beyond tacky.

Flame away all ye brainwashed individuals out there.

the house of God.

10% - Find a trustworthy church, but remember the poor woman who put in 2 mites and Jesus commended her. The synagogue was corrupt, yet she still did it and had Christs blessing. Its a symbol - giving 10% back to God.

It is supposed to pay ministers wages, books, church activities, missionaries etc.

Mal 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

God bless!!

Tithes are just another method of gouging the congregation. Never give money to a church whose leader has a bigger house than you.

In the LDS Church our Tithes go to building church houses, stake centers, Temples and other Church buildings. That's all it is for.
