i have been dating a girl for over a year, we are both at the same university so occasionally i stay at hers and she stays at my place. I am still a virgin and i want to keep it that way until i get married, however i am planning to move into her flat. We have discussed this as a possibility, talking to parents as well. What is the view on this? I plan to get engaged with her probably within next year or so. From what i have read from resources on the net, it seems like the church would frown on this.

Thanks for any help!

Check out some of these scriptures. You need to make up your own mind. It really depend on how you feel about your action in the eyes of God , also how to she feel.

The church frowns on it because God frowns on it.

You'll be married for a long time, and have plenty of time together.

Don't shack up. It's a lousy way to start a life, and it's a sin.

This is what I found in the bible if you are interested in what it has to say

1Th 5:22 "Abstain from all appearance of evil." while you are not sinning you may appear to be, this verse says you should avoid that.

Mat 26:41 "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak."

1) If you are going to move in together and get married (definitley)...then why not just marry?

2) If you hope to postpone sex... then living together would ALWAYS put temptation right there with you.

3) Some churches put up more of a fuss about it.

4) I just figure...if you are going to get married for sure...then get married and don't wonder which is right.

I think you are dragging the name of Christ into the mud. It doesn't matter whether you are not having sex. All the people around you are going to think you are having sex. If they know you are a christian they are going to look on you as a hypocrit and they are going to say that all christians are hypocrits. Anyhow, moving in with her is a lot of temptation. If you move in with her you'll probably end up in bed with her. If she's really the right one, then she's worth waiting for. If we really love Christ
we'lldo nothing to bring His name into disrepute.
