cupressure Press gently but firmly on the sides of either index finger opposite the base of the fingernail.

Cloves
Place two drops of clove essential oil on a sterile cotton ball; place the cotton ball against the aching tooth between the tooth and the cheek until the pain subsides.

Place a whole clove between the aching tooth and your cheek. It can be held in place by holding your finger on the outside of the cheek. Chew the cloves a little to release their juice, then leave them in place for half an hour or so or until the pain subsides.
Salt Combine two tablespoons of salt with one cup of boiling water; take a mouthful of water as hot as possible and slosh it around your mouth near the tooth; repeat as necessary.

Tea Suck on a teabag. Place it as close to the aching tooth as possible.

Oh I am sooo sorry. I know exactly what your going through. I had a toothache late at night, when the dentist is closed, so I went to the store and got some of that temperary filling. Bad idea!!!!

When I was younger I was told to let a cayenne pepper dry out and bite down on one of the seeds, never tried it though. If you are really in pain and have some money call the emergency dentist. There is always a dentist that provides emergency help, cost a little more though.

If your hungrey and can't eat my suggestion is try drinking soup or blend some mash potatoes and drink it.

Sorry about your tooth

I try to go to sleep when this happens, which is harder than usual. Try taking a sleeping pill that you can by at a local store or (just a suggestion) smoke some weed to relax your nerves, weed is good for that. It helps relieve the tension and relax your mind so you can go to sleep and take your mind off of the pain.
Good luck

I have 2 children and 1 on the way. The absolute worst pain I've ever been in was when I had nerve pain due to a horrible toothache. No joke. A normal toothache, no big deal but I don't think anything could be worse than nerve pain. ETA: I've never gone through labor without an epidural so I can't compare those 2.

"Red Cross Toothache Medicine" is good for a deep pain. It has a really strong flavor of cloves, but it does work. You can buy it at your local pharmacy.
Also, Alieve (Naprosyn Sodium) will also help.
To be able to eat, put your sandwich in a blender and put it on "Chop". That way you'll still be able to eat your sandwich, and you'll also get some relief from the toothache.

Just don't wait for too long to get to a dentist, the tooth may be infected, and if left untreated for a long time will give you a "systemic Infection", which is not a fun thing at all.

I hope this helps.

In addition to using the pain medication of your choice, sleep on an extra pillow to elevate your head. Sleep on the side that does NOT have a toothache. If that doesn't work, you can move to a recliner or the sofa so you can keep your head really elevated. This will minimize the blood flow to the area and therefore minimize the throbbing and pain. This might help you make it through the night until you can see a dentist.

AN OLD FASHIONED REMEDY IS TO GO TO THE GROCERY STORE IN THE SPICE SECTION and buy whole cloves. Put about 6-9 seeds between your teeth and your gum and it will numb it for about 15-30 minutes. Put the cloves beside your bed and spit them out when they lose their numbing effect, then put in new ones until the morning when you can get to the dentist.

It really works!
