Just read some history book for a change. The role of feet washing was a job for the servant. It was a courtesy to wash the feet of guests who had been walking through dusty roads in bare feet or sandals.

Jesus was demonstrating that a leader was to be a servant of others. Not to be proud and selfish. Today he may well offer to wash your car. Is it gay to wash someone else's car as a demonstration of humility and servant-hood?

Does everything have to fit western culture to be considered right?

And anyway are you saying that gay people wash other men's feet? How do you know this?

An even if you are gay, you could learn something from this. And act of humility and servant-hood could do wonders for your life.

1)are you serious? do you have something important to do?
2)It was an act of service, an object lesson.
3)Modern society is a lot more prudish than ancient society. this is a society where men kiss each other out of respect and to say hello, feet were not a big deal.
4) Where in the world do you get sexual overtones from sweaty feet? do you find sweaty, grimey, smelly feet sexy?

The terrain was dusty and people walked a lot. In order that they not track dust and dirt throughout residences and temples and such, they washed feet. It was a sign of respect for whoever's house or building you entered. As in, a custom that arose due to a dusty landscape.

If you study a little bit of history, it will prevent you from jumping to inane conclusions about things that actually made perfect sense.

Washing other people's feet doesn't mean they're gay. It's a sign of humility.

Hope I've helped.(^_^)

They all wore sandles back then. Very dirty feet. Kind of away to honour others and gain respect by washing their feet.
