Well, handwriting has nothing to do with genes. My mom writes fast and fat and loooong, dragging the full thing.
however i write in italics, though withiut losing much detail.
What I have observed, is that you need to perfect your cursive writing. Every letter should get joined without you lifting your hand when you write a word.
So, I suggest that you print out or buy a page of Cursive alphabets and how they are joined to each other.
once you master this art, you can make your handwriting as fast as your hands can move.
You also need to learn how to hold a pen/pencil or other writing instrument. There are various ways, I think you should search the net for them and try them all out and use the one most comfortable to you. You also need a good pen. Preferably ask a school child which is their favourite, because being in school, they write a lot and keep on trying new pens. I, too, am a schoolchild, but I am not very conversant(adapted to) with many pens. A lexi5 or a cello gripper/maxwriter/finer is what i usually use, but im sure there are much better choices than those.. So check with others.

There is no magic or miracle to increase the speed of handwriting overnight. Cultivate the habit of writing as many pages as possible daily in a notebook. Increase the pages of writing at least once in a week. After some time your speed of writing will automatically increase. Follow the dictum " practise makes man perfect."
