As everyone seems to be hung up on the rich and famous, there have been many from this group that have used this to control their weight, Princess Di being one. It takes a heavy diet of the laxative over a prolonged period of time to accomplish significant weight loss but once there it then becomes a maintenance issue. Warning, this is very hard on your whole digestive system and your body in general. Only desperate people look at something like this as a solution.

Yes it is something that some use to lose weight. That is abusing the purpose of the drug. It is not healthy at all.

Laxatives & Losing Weight
Using laxatives to lose weight? What are you doody-ing to yourself! More damage than you can know…

"In with the good, out with the bad." Seems like a pretty logical statement, doesn't it? But not when the topic is laxatives! Taking laxatives on a regular basis is like planting thousands of tiny explosives in your intestinal track. Intestinal abuse is what it is!

How do laxatives work? Well, sometimes not at all. And when they do, it can be pretty explosive! You can even become dependent upon them 'to get the job done'.

Laxatives are available in several forms. Bulk laxatives are considered the safest because they act similarly to a sponge, absorbing fluids within the body, thus expanding to increase the moisture content of the stool. The increased bulk also encourages activity in the intestinal track.

Suppositories and enemas help stimulate waves of contractions in the intestinal muscles while stool softeners add liquid to the bowels resulting in easier passage.

Losing Weight via Laxatives:
This is better known as 'The Big Purge Syndrome'. The abuser is putting considerable amounts of irritation on the bowel. As a visual, try tossing a pinch of baking soda into a tablespoon of vinegar. That's a laxative effect on your intestines. Poor intestines.

Taking all these serious risks into consideration, the safest and best way to lose weight - or maintain your current weight, is through SMART thinking - smart eating - smart activity.

When people have bulimia, this is one method they use. It removes tons of water from the body and so gives the appearance of weight loss. It's not as 'effective' as vomiting, because the calories are being absorbed. both are extremely dangerous methods, tho, that through off the enzyme balance of the body and can literally result in death.

Yes people do. They make you go more often and sometimes the food does not properly digest. It is not a healthy way to lose weight at all though.

yes they do, and it works in the way that you pretty much sh*t out most of the food that you eat so it doesnt get a chance to turn to fat, but this is very unhealthy because you not only dont get fat but also a lot of the nutrition & energy that comes from food
