Your first step would be to obtain a copy of the police report, assuming one was filed. All necessary information will be listed there. If not, your best bet is going to be to file a claim with your own insurance company and forward to them all of the other party's contact info. They may handle your injuries/damages and then go after the other people or their insurance for reimbursement. If this is the route you go and you are not at fault you will NOT pay increased premiums for it. They have provisions in place for situations such as this.
Good luck to you.

in a hurry and leaving before you get insurance info after an accident what were you tryin to hide hmm

could be they dont have insurance

I had an accident with someone who claimed they had insurance but didn't have the info with them at the time and I just called my insurance company and they took care of it and then about a week later the insurance company called an said that the other person had no insurance but since it was their fault and the police report proved it my rate didn't go up and I didn't pay a dime

Once again, although sometimes it feels that way, the insurance company really isn't paying you for an accident. The person who caused the accident and is at fault owes you for the cost of making you whole, and it's between them and their insurance company as to whether, and how much, they are reimbursed after they pay you.

If your insurance company won't help (they should), you might have to talk to an attorney about taking them to court to collect the amount you are out. Good luck with it. The attorney WILL get their insurance information if they do have insurance.

Get a copy of the police report, it one was taken if not call the police and ask them to come out and explain to them that they refused to give you the insurance info, they may not have insurance, if so you can sue them in court for damages and legal fees. The police can demand to see proof of insurance from anyone at any time. The reason I say get a copy of the report is in most cases the police report will contain insurance info for both parties involved. Best of luck to you and yours.

If you got a tag number, you can see if the police or your insurance company can run a tag trace. Other than that, report it to your company and have them harass the crap out of them for it. Once they tell them they're coming after them, if they are insured I'm sure they'll give it up!

Do you have their tag number? if so go file a police report and when the report comes back it should have the insurance info. You can also file the claim with your ins. company and they can subrogate against the other's ins. company. You'll be subject to your deductible and when your insurance company gets reimbursed by the other ins. company you'll get your deductible reimbursed to you.

They are required by law to tell you, advise the police and they will get it for you although its possible that they may only give it to your insurers
