Hi, I love singing at open mic nites at piano bars and also at karaoke bars. I was wondering what the best places are in DC and environs. I am looking for a really good piano bar where I can bring my sheet music. I heard there is such a place. I also like local karaoke bars where you can sing all night and they don't rob you by charging you to sing per song. Any ideas?

Try the Vegas Lounge on P Street NW; they don't do open mic every night but it's usually once a week. For karaoke, there is the Grand Slam sports bar in the Grand Hyatt Hotel on 10th and H; they do karaoke one or two times a week at no charge but sometimes it does get crowded so you might not get to sing all night long but you'll get at least a couple of turns.

If you are interested in any of the places listed in that about.com link the previous poster submitted, call first to make sure they are still open. About.com is pretty much out of date!
