I would like to know which are the insurance companies provide the insurance for young oak trees and other trees used in mass plantation.
I would appreciate your answer.

I own a garden center in Arkansas and there is not one insurance company who will insure my plants - they say that they are perishable goods!

Good luck and if you find someone - please post it!!!

Insurance for an oak tree? I have planted many Oak trees. And I love them. They grow fast, and gives you a lot of shade!! But it'll be 30 t0 60, before you think, it's going to fall in your house!

If you have a tree farm, you can get crop coverage for it. Otherwise, you have limited coverage under your homeowners policy. The other alternative is a "special" policy through Lloyds, where you tell them what things you want to insure it agains (wind, fire, lightening, etc) and they tell you how much it will cost. Starting price for a specialty policy like this is usually around $1200 a year, when you add in the state taxes & fees.

You cannot get coverage for an oak tree.

The only coverage you can get is to protect your home or car from damage if the tree falls.

BUT....this coverage only pays to repair the home and remove the tree from your home (not to dispose of it).

You will have to pay BOTH to dispose of the fallen tree and to replace it.
