Realize that you can catch more flies wit honey than you can with vinegar. Before starting to yell in anger, take 5 deep breaths. After that, chances are you'll come up with better solution to the problem than just yelling.

I agree with leikevy. Some things are under your control and some aren't. The biggest thing that should be under your control is your temper. However, if you find yourself getting angry, and you can't control your outbursts, I've found the best thing to do is to go somewhere by yourself and let it out. Best not to keep it in all the time, that sort of thing leads to physical health problems such as ulcers and the like. I used to get angry at the drop of the hat before, but I've since realized that it only makes others angry or upset which doesn't solve anything. It just causes more unrest. Since I have learned to control my anger, I have found a lot more is happening good in my life now. For example, I have a beautiful girlfriend that would have left me a while ago for my temper; I got a job that put me in a position to travel from NY to WA to be with her. That job involved cust service, which we all know that those kind of people can't be yelling; And I have since started a new career where I have kept a level head and have moved up from simply an associate to lead position, and finally I am now a supervisor with 6 other employees that work for me. They tell me all the time that I'm one of the better sup's theyve had, because I talk to and reason with them instead on barking orders. All this has happened within the last 1.5 - 2 years. However that's just my take on it, somebody else may have some better advice for you. (Whew!, those two points took a little work, but were well worth it!).

Above all else, if you can't control it, take it where nobody else has to suffer through it. You'll feel better as will everyone else.

I assume you get angry because things dont go the way you want or expected. I think you should first understand that some things are under your control and some things arent. After you do that, realize that the things you can do about do not require anger to solve. You mat at that instant be angry but if you are able to find a solution, the anger subsides. Anger/hate does not solve any problems. Solutions solve problems.

First of all be frank with yourself and consider why do you get angry. Are things different from what you expect them to be ?Or is it that you think you are always right and everyone else is wrong?Anger denotes a negative attitude .Do you really want to be always negative?Adopt the listen first approach, hear people out, then consider what if they are at least partially right?Think at least thrice before arguing and do not answer if necessary.Always keep a smile and acknowledge other opinions --even if the guy is an idiot and talks nonsense!
