my mother-in-law has serious psychological issues. My father-in-law had her arrested saturday night for tresspassing on his mothers property. We gave the arresting officer several letters she wrote to my father-in-law and left in his truck that clearly shows she has serious issues. The officer told us later that she agreed to a psych consult. When we called the department sunday morning to find out the results, they said she was released and had no other info. I was wondering if there was a online resource that can give more information on the arrest details. They won't tell us a thing and we are very concerned that she will harm someone in our family or herself. Please help

Warrants and arrests are not available online but must be personally requested at the Police Department.

I would recommend that on Monday, you go to the police department personally and request a police report on the incident your mother-in-law was arrested for. In the police report, it should list information regarding the offense, and possibly the disposition of the case (that means, was she released, was a citation issued, and possibly other issues relating to the incident).

Two FYIs about requesting a police report. One, there maybe a charge to obtain one. Two, you might not be able to get it instantly. Two, the one that will probably effect you more, because the incident happened so recently. It is possible the police report hasn't gone through all of the proper checks in the system that would enable it to be prepared to be officially released.

Finally, you will need some specific information about the offense in order to request a report. Such information might include the case number (if you have it), the date and time the incident occurred, the responding officer, the address the incident occurred at, and the reporting party. To be sure you have all the information you will need, it is a good idea to call the police department (the non-emergency line) to double check with them what information you need to provide in order to request a police report.

Hope that helped!

Check for her court date then start tracking the case in criminal court by the docket number. She will have a date to appear but probably pretty soon. Ask the prosecutors office for help and they MAY help but might not.
