Well, not demonic...but definately self-defeating and woefully misinformed.
There's really nothing anyone can do for them or about them, they obviously cannot be reached by rational communications.
Perhaps you could pray that God would make His message clearer to them, that they would come to know that only God can determine who will be going to hell and He never tells anyone, that Christianity is to be a message and a group of lives focused on Love, and that every 'believer' who focuses on hatred or fear acts upon the church the way that the lash-strikes did upon the body of Jesus before he was sentenced to crucifixtion.

I don't know they're demonic but I don't think there's much that can be done, really. One witnessing-woman literally told me that she didn't care if I called the cops on her for trespassing after being told repeatedly to get off my property. She said she's answering to a higher authority and "man's law" wasn't going to keep her from doing God's work. And she meant it...she came back the next weekend...and the next....and the next....

Honey, some of these people, if they were in another religion would be strapping on car bombs. That's their innate personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive about religion of some kind. They don't listen to God. So be at peace

I don't know, I haven't ever seen people standing with signs saying anybody is going to hell. I have seen signs saying "Jesus saves." Actually, you sound kinda angry yourself. If I saw something like you describe, I might stop and talk to the person. Then I would explain my concerns about the way they are expressing their message. They probably mean well, and you might have some effect on them if you explain how you feel.

Ah, I see you've met the Phelps. Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka Ks. Well, yes they are freaks, and everybody knows it. We don't lay blame for those people on any organization outside their own small horrifying group (which is basically all their own family)! They are just plain NUTS!

Just think of how many hungry people they could feed if they put all their energy into running a soup kitchen instead of acting like idiots.

I can't discern a spirit unless I see them. There are better ways to get the message out to the lost than this, but there is critcism nevertheless.

If they are peacefully practicing their faith, leave them alone. This is still America. They still have freedom to peacefully practice their religion, whether or not we agree with them. If they are not causing or inciting injury, let them be.
Hoping the best for you...
