How do I not look stupid on my first date?

Okay. I asked this guy from my bank out, he's cute, funny, nice. I'm really excited. But I haven't been on a real date, like ever. I just got divorced and the only one I've ever been out with was my husband, (even then there was never a real date). I don't want to look stupid on this date, I really like this guy I don't want to blow it. But I almost wasn't prepared for him to say yes. Any first date tips (or ideas) that you guys can help me out with? Thank you so much, to those who respond.

Wear something that goes well with ur skin color and ur body,wear something stylish and plz be sure that it covers ur chest properly so when u bend nothing shows and don’t go for tight trousers or very short skirt.wear soft make up and plz avoid heavy make up and that includes red lipstick and so much of eyeliner but put extra mascara,plz avoid any glitter and that does don’t include shiny lip-gloss and shiny eye shadows without.Dont forget to wear a good kind of perfume,spray ur cloth b4 u wear them and b4 u meet him,trust me he will always remember the perfume’s scent if things went well. I want u to blow dry your hair in a way that it will be straight, flow with volume. plz dont keep any hair clips on it.if the guy is short do not wear very high heels and if he is not don’t get urself into heels that u cant walk comfortably in (trust me on this).dont keep ur mobile on the loud nor the vibration mode and plz don’t keep any romatic ringing tones,just keep it on an average volume. Don’t wear so much jewelry keep it simple and expensive. NEVER talk about the past, it is the worst time maybe later if he insisted but 4 the first date just say “iam really enjoying it so much right now, so let me tell u something funny happened….”.Apply moisturizers on ur hands and if u would like to polish ur nails plz keep it simple and it dose not need to be the same color of ur dress,French mincare will do. Plz go to a place that it is classy and not having very loud music and order something u can eat easily. IF U EVER felt that he is trying to touch ur hand (plz don’t give him the chance) or site too close to u or even saying to u any romantic crap of any kind, be sure that he is not interested in u personally just the fact that u r a female.

It's always important to be yourself on a first date. If you know this guy, I mean, have had the chance to know him, then having a nice conversation to kick off the evening would be nice.

Make sure you wear the right outfit for the date, can't tell exactly what you should wear cos you didn't say where you guys were going. If it's for a quiet dinner, a nice semi formal dress, that shows a little bit of skin should be nice. Make sure your make-up is not too heavy...the less, the better, makes one look more natural.

Be cool and relax and everything else will fall in its place. If you guys like each other and enjoy each others company, then I'm sure it will be a great date.

Dress nicely not slutty. Don't monopolize the conversation. Listen when he talks. Don't agree with everything he says just because you think he expects it. Since you asked him out you pay for the date, if he insists on paying let him. Take him somewhere nice where there will be other people around but, not to loud. Do not no matter how tempting tell him the reason for your divorce, how bad ex is or any stories that involve naked babies. Above all have fun, and be yourself. Best wishes.

first of all nice going on asking the guy out. i ask many women out and get shot down a lot. and i really am a nice guy. would be very nice to know a woman likes me enough to ask me. its never happened to me before.
just be your self. suggest forget talking about the past. talk about now and about where you are in your life.talk about music and simple things that will not hit any sensitive subjects that could turn him off to you. good luck

wow I would be nervous too!!!!! just be yourself I know common answer but seriously. You wont look stupid if you dont feel stupid if that makes sense! Dont give out to much info about yourself, mystery can be a good thing, dont wear shoes where the heels are to big or a short dress if you get tipsy you could fall and bare all, wear something modest on comfey guys like that......... ohhhhh and dont order pasta or soups or anything to runny that you could spill on yourself. try not to get pissed, loosing all inhabitions cant be good.....ohhh one more thing.........have a really nice time..!!!!!!

If you have a good body, dress slutty. It'll help you feel confident. If you dont have a good body, learn a bunch of jokes. Also, have some interesting stories; like that college three way or the time you robbed a convenience store.

It's not that big of a deal, or as hard as your making it.

Just take it slow, and try to learn more about this guy, by you getting to know each other, that'll give you alot to focus on.

If you both share the exact same hobbies, you'll see that the guy isn't much different from you.
