Admiration of a man would not be wise. Do you see Jesus as just a man? If Jesus was God in the flesh then he should be worshiped. If Jesus was not God in the flesh then he was the greatest con artist of all time. Jesus said he was the son of God. If your faith allows you to accept that then admire him, worship him, follow all his teachings. If your faith is weak or you have no faith at all, then your question is mute. A man today that claims to be the son of God would be considered insane. So, Jesus is the son of God and should be worshiped, admired and obeyed, OR he is not the son of God and a madman has overcome the world. It's your choose to believe or not. But there's no middle ground. Lunatic or Lord. Get off the fence and take a walk on the grass.

I suppose part of Jesus' mission is to get people to realize that millions hate him for no reason when they should be admiring him, if only for secular reasons.

He was that, more importantly he was God and in his blood only we find salvation that God desires for us.
An amazing teacher, wise and direct, a model of living...
But those things are a side note to the One who spoke the world and all it is into existence, and evidenced all who God is in love by coming to us and giving his life for ours.
The one place we can look for truth, trust, wisdom and abundant and eternal life.
I admire him, I praise and worship him.

Let's see; he abandoned his job, wandered around, never got married, and made a big drama about being crucified when it happened regularly.

Yup, a great example.
