We had a cousin too old to be the ringbearer, and too young to be a groomsman, pull out the aisle runner, after the bridesmaids but before the flowergirl & ringbearer, and then me.

At the weddings that I've been too.. (Catholic)
The aisle runner is rolled out by the ushers.
I've seen it done at a couple of different times
Right before walking anyone down the aisle (i.e. mother-of-the bride, etc)
After family seated but before wedding party walks down the aisle
Or right before the bride walks down the aisle.
I saw this on the web: Once everyone is seated, the groomsmen unroll the aisle runner in readiness for the processional. The Groomsmen may be part of the processional or they may take positions in the front with the best man or groom. They stand near the groom during the ceremony. They are in formal Photographs of the bridal party. They Escort the bridesmaids from the ceremony in the recessional.

You don't have to have something rolled out along the aisle. But if you did, the people who set up the chairs and things should do that. At least, where I used to work we were the ones who put something down if they wanted.

The best man & his second in line usually do the rolling of the aisle. And, this is done when the bridal music starts, shortly before the bride walks down. Then, everyone gets in place - "queue" the bridal music....she walks.

generally the groomsmen or ushers. At least, thats the way I've seen it done. Could have 2 young men/boys do it if you have 2 that need something to do.

the ushers roll it out. and you can have it rolled out right before you and whoever is walking you down the asile walks or at mine i had it rolled out so the flower girl and ring boy would walk on it then me.
