I'm currently on the same path - trying to find God. Although I never went to church, my mom taught me the Lord's prayer (though I never really recited it). As I got older I read the bible, but really didn't understand it. I remember hearing a catholic say that if a child is killed before it is christened or if someone does not accept Jesus, then they go to hell. I was very young at the time, but even then knew that this was wrong. Why would God punish someone who lives in the rainforest if they never even heard of Jesus? Or send a child to hell for something it had no control over? I have friends of many faiths and organized religions, but I don't believe anyone is right. I am convinced there is a God or creator, but not in all the dogma that organized religions spew. Killing in the name of God/Al-lah? Absurd. Here is a book you may want to look at. It might help you on your path.

And don't listen to ignorant liberals or Darwinist's. Most of Darwin's outdated theories have been disproven by evolutionary biologists, and liberals...well...there is no rational explanation for their convoluted irrationality. Most importantly, never stop looking. The learning you experience along the way will be invaluable.

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!

Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!

Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?

My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:

Do you know how to play safe?
Your point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...

Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...

Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?

I don't know how you can find God as you put it!
but you should just pick a church you feel at home in so to speak.
The answer should be simple really because there is only one God in this world, & we are all God's Children.

Matthew 7:7-8
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

First start by saying the sinners prayer :

“Father, I know my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”

Then, pray and ask God to reveal Himself to you. You will definitely "see" Him, because He has promised :

Deuteronomy 4:29
But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Jeremiah 29:13
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Maybe it's time to start looking toward yourself instead of imaginary magic men in the sky.
