In this day and age where science and medicine have been marginalized, where reproductive choice is a 'sin', and rights for same-sex couples have been made into a political prop with an over-the-top effort to amend the constitution, I wouldn't be surprised if some politician offered to make a const. amendment against bible burning. As silly as it sounds, I would bet that it would get many people beating their chests as they see another way to promote their identity.

You can ban anything you want, but it won't change people's hearts. The Prohibition era in the U.S. is evidence of that. For that matter, if people want to burn Bibles, I'd hope that Christ's followers would reach out to these people and find out why they feel as they do instead of enforcing a code of conduct that does no go unless their hearts are changed as well. And only God can do that. Look at the Pharisees: They had all kinds of self-imposed restrictions on what they should or shouldn't do, but their hearts were far away from God. The key isn't to enforce outward behavior--the key is for God to change people on the inside so that their actions will be changed on the outside. But to address your question more specifically, I think the First Amendment is doing just fine as it is.

If people want to burn their own property that is their prerogative. They are most likely hoping to get a reaction from Christians which isn't worth giving. Look at it this way if they are purchasing bibles to burn they are benefitting the sellers and printers some of who are Christians. Besides our faith is in the living God not paper product. The letter killeth but the Spirit gives life. As long as they don't try and burn your bible let people have their production. Bring a bag of marsh mellows and a long stick.

I was going to say, "only if you ban all book burning" but someone beat me to it. darn. I don't believe in book banning or book burning of any kind, even books I don't agree with such as the bible. I would be a hypocrite if I thought that any book I disagreed with should be burned.

Freedom of speech!

I think that there should be. I think that the bibles stories are real. If some peolpe would just sit down and take time to read the bible, they would see for themselves. My father is a pastor and I was raised with morals, knowing right from wrong, and knowing that God is real. Some people haven't read the bible and could care less. The Bible is real and so is God. The law should punish those who do wrong, and burning the Bible is one of them. Keep God Holy!!

No one should ever burn a book period. And censorship in that regard is illegal.
But being specific about the book being the Bible is a matter for the church not the state.

The ability to burn things is a sign of how much freedom one has.

Only a lover of Osama bin Laden's ideas would try to ban bible burning.

No, but there should be one requiring it.

On second thought, scratch that. Nothing creates athiests like a good read of the christian bible. Sadly, even the ones that can read probably haven't read the whole thing...
