Yes, each story is a moral and spiritual lesson. Take the Red sea story, it tells us that even if we are serrounded by the threat of drowning in sin and death , with our past reminding us of our mistakes and with our enemy waiting for us to give up and or slip, that we should keep moving toward promises that God has given us even though we can't see them yet.(Exodus 13:17- Exodus 14)

Understand the history and the people of that time. Use it to find out what the authors meant by what the authors wrote.
Oh,but then you'd have to read it.

You would never find a Muslim burning a Bible or using it for toilet paper, so all of you who said such things about it, Muslims will probably not have much respect for you...sorry... :)
That's just not the right thing to say about a holy book...

For Learning, pure and simple. So many people live such boring, unfulfilled lives and wonder why. If they bothered to read this extraordinary "book", and learn to understand its many messages, their lives would change forever, in the very best of ways. Jesus did not give us the gift of eternal life, by dieing on the Cross for us for nothing.
Ignore those who would be derisive of you or the Bible, their ignorance will certainly be proven to be anything but bliss when their time to die comes to pass.
