She cleaned up her first 4 but they wouldn't suck and died with in about 8 hrs. This one was born 4 days later, played with buy a 3 year old who didn't know better but is nursing and seems to be doing okay? Has anyone ever had this and if so did the kitten survive. It is late in the season.

Well it is morning and the kitten is still alive and doing well!! As far as the questions. The mother is only 1 year old. And "late in the season" is referring to the fact that I am far north and on a farm. Out door fall kittens often die but not right after birth. Cat 's will not cycle again until Spring because of the amount of daylight hours. Of course there always exceptions. This cat is an example of that!!

Wow did something startle the mother into early labour? That would explain why the 1st lot didn't suck. Premmy cats VERY rarely survive. Is the mother old? Just keep an eye on the last survivor. it should do ok as long as the 3 yr old didn't break anything n it gains weight as per usual. I have heard of cats being scared into premature labour due to storms or dog attack or that kinda stuff but never heard or 1 kitten surviving the labour only to be born when it should be. Good luck

i don't think of that she is killing the kittens. All of those kittens have been born the two diseased or with some ailment. or her not having any milk, that brought about them to die. She is removing them from the clutter to help with the survival of the others. Hiding them from predators is a organic thank you to maintain the heady scent faraway from her section. considering one died in the 1st clutter and this clutter isn't surviving, she for some inner reason isn't waiting to have healthful kittens. because of this, her well-being is likewise in possibility. A cat can get pregnant lower back real after having a clutter. shop her interior, verify that this one is getting fed. If she would not have adequate milk, you will would desire to feed the kitten around the clock each and every 2 hours. At 8 weeks of age, the kitten would be weaned, in the previous in an emergency. Then have your cat spayed despite if pregnant. She desires to regain her well-being.

ive had that happen with one of my dogs but unfortunately it didn't survive; the only reason was that it was exposed to venom in my dogs blood since she was bitten by a rattle snake while pregnant; but the vet advised me that the pup would have survived it it wasn't poisoned. good luck
