Given that he is just given the capability to read and write. For example quite a lot of illiterate people can read and write but the problem it they can't understand the meaning. For instance although i can read and write latin words i can't understand the mening of the words (latin) i write. Can a person that is miracly given the ability to read and write understand the meaning of the Quran that is a very complex book to read, in just a few second. Every verse in the Quran has a meaning behind it a person cannot interpret it just like reading a book or magazine

of course muhamMAD could understand the quran, he created it from an alteration of the bible. he changed the contents of the bible to suit himself. the quran was nothing more than a creation of his ingenuity to be able to brainwash all moslems to follow his wishes.
he loves to kill so he made it a law in the quran that moslems must kill infidels, and many many more examples....
so the answer is yes, muhamMAD can really understand and interpret the quran because it is his creation, his fiction and his fantasy.

Prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him) understood the Qur'an because the angel Gabriel taught him the meanings of it. and there is a verse in the Qur'an says that prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him) doesn't speak from his own desires or thoughts but what he says is revealed to him when he explain and teach Islam to the people. This is not the only miracle. there is another miracle that people usualy don't think about it. As a muslim prophet Mohamed( PBUH) must pray 5 times a day and he lead the muslims in the prayers, he has to recite the Qur'an to them. The Qur'an has more than 6000 verses, if Mohamed (PBUH) is a lier and the Qur'an is from his mind then he should forget his lies and change the words of the verses everytime he pray. But this never happened!!!! I want you to write a story or an article 10 pages and after that try to say it exactly from your memory without changing 1 single word. Can you do it? I don't think so. you will forget because it's your words and he didn't forget because this words are the revelation of God to him and this is the other proof that he is a true prophet. I thank God everyday that I'm Muslim.

The original Al Qor'an is in Arabic language. The contents of Al Qur'an are divided into 3 types i.e. (1)the clear verse than can not be interpreted other than it is written (2) unclear verse that can be interpreted into 2 or more meanings and (3) humans including Muhammad peace be upon him,do not know its meanings exactly such as alif laam miim the first verse of Surah 2 Al Baqarah (female cow) and yaa siin Surah 35 Yaa Siin the first verse too.
Muhammad was illiterate he could not read and write, but he was very honest and humble. He was dictated by the Jibril angel verse by verse and he could remember it well and repeated it again and again. His followers who could write and read, had been written it when Muhammad told to them.Muhammad understood its meaning so his followers wrote it down on the book that was called hadith as an explanation of him.Muhammad asked for explanation from Jibril angle if he did not know its meaning or Allah the only one God directly informed him. After Muhammad pbuh died, welknown muslim theologists discussed the unclear meaning of a verse and they made a formal decision of its meaning as a formal interpretation. So all muslims should know its meaning and its interpretations by reading holy Qur'an,Hadith and islamic books written by welknown muslim theologists..

Who Wrote the Holy Qur'an?

Mohammad (pbuh) had no reason to come up with something like Quran, and cause the entire society of Arabia to become his enemy. Why would he do something like that? Why would he write something going against almost all of the norms of the society, and lose his family, relatives, friends, and other loved ones, and not to mention all the wealth he lost

Quran was revealed over a period of 23 years! A very long time! Is it possible for someone to maintain the same exact style of Arabic speech , as demonstrated in Quran, for over 23 years?

Also, what the prophet Mohammad (saaw) used to say is recorded in what we call his hadeeth (sunnah). If we look at the Arabic style of the hadeeth, and compare it with the style of Quran, we can clearly see that they are clearly DIFFERENT, and DISTINGUISHABLE Arabic styles. The prophet (saaw) spoke in public. It does not make sense that a man has two UNIQUE, Distinguishable, and completely different styles of speech in public. Yet another reason why Mohammad (saaw) couldn't possibly have written Quran.

God has given Muhammad the knowledge of wisdom of which He has given to the previous prophets before him. Quran is very strong deep words that has alot of secrets. those who don't believe in it, don't see the secrets. those who believes it see the secrets of life. Yes Muhammad can understand the Quran but not sure about the 100%.

Muhammad(saws) was the living Quran itself so obviously he could interpret it. The verses were handed down for various situations that Muhammad(saws) and his companions were going through. He could not read and write and had those who could write down the verses do so.
