I know that sounds pretty dumb but now that I have your attention need some advice. Over the past couple months we've been seeing and talking less and less. Not really sure what happened but its apparent is over romantically now. Do I let her know I know she came and took the guitar? Or just let it go and try to shelve her in a happy place?

Can't help you this time, but for future reference: it depends on the guitar. Girlfriends are great and everything, but guitars are serious business, and the great ones are more rare and harder to find than girlfriends.

For your sake I really hope it was just some old k-mart guitar and not a 1957 Les Paul or anything. Next time be more careful.

You may want to ask her if there's anything else she wants back, just so there won't be any more surprises like that. Also, let her know that it is unacceptable to sneak into your house, there's a law against breaking and entering.

Well you wouldn't want to be accused of keeping it from her if you know for fact that she took it. Just let it go and let her go...she obviously didn't want a confrontation with you or she wouldn't have been sneaking about.

Maybe you should have given it back before she had to go looking for it... move on from it.
